About the programme

Launched in partnership with the Asian Venture Philanthropy Network (AVPN) and other partners, the Disaster Technology Innovation Programme seeks to reduce human and economic losses in natural disasters and make communities safer and more resilient.

It does so by:

  • Raising awareness of innovative and viable tech which protects and/or saves lives before, during and after natural disasters; and
  • Building partnerships between innovators, funders and resource providers to increase “investment”.

In 2019, participating organisations stand a chance to win grants from a total pool of US$150,000 to support the implementation and scaling up of their Disaster Tech solutions. In addition, finalists were invited to showcase their solutions and seek further partnerships at the 2019 AVPN Conference, the largest gathering of social impact funders and resource providers in Asia.
