Pru Life UK has partnered with the Philippines’ Department of Education and Junior Achievement to integrate fundamental money concepts in the curricula of grade school students through the Cha-Ching Money Smart Kids programme. To date, educators from 100 partner schools – 64 public and 36 private – are implementing the programme using Cha-Ching episodes in DVD, workbooks and lesson plans, and other school items. It has benefited over 114,000 students and trained some 1,640 teachers all over the country.
Pru Life UK is also active in the field of disaster risk reduction efforts, working with leading NGOs such as Plan International, Save the Children, Habitat for Humanity, PHAPCares and Salubong Movement, as well as national and local government units to support immediate relief and long-term recovery efforts in areas affected by disasters. In the Province of Cebu, it supported Project Noah’s Ark which aims to help increase the capacity of local governments and high-risk communities to prepare for and cope with disasters.
Under SAFE STEPS Natural Disasters, Pru Life UK has signed an agreement with the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council through the Office of Civil Defense to disseminate disaster preparedness collaterals across the country.
